Providing flexible supports to people with a disability in the Greater Brisbane Area.

Choice. Opportunity. Diversity. Ability.

Our Story

Established in 1989, a group of parents founded CODA out of concern for the welfare of their sons and daughters with a disability when they were no longer able to provide the level of support needed to maintain them at home. After successfully lobbying the local and state government, CODA was born, and became an approved association in September 1991 forming an in-home respite service.

Today CODA is an established small to medium sized organisation that has expanded to create innovative services designed to suit the individual needs of the person with a disability and their carers. Recognising the ongoing changes in people’s lifestyles, CODA endeavours to provide flexible services that meet the needs of the clients, carers and community.

Developing a range of programs which incorporate Community Participation and linking has enabled CODA to promote community awareness and support for people with a disability and their carers and facilitate positive links with other organisations and associations interested in the support of people with disabilities and their carers.

CODA fully supports and recognises individual’s ability to make their own choices and decisions and work with individuals and families to develop plans for support that recognise those choices and facilitates opportunities for growth and change.

CODA welcomes the changes to the industry under a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and is ready to work collaboratively with you, to support you in a way that best meets your needs; with as little or as much help from CODA as you choose.

Please contact CODA today and see how they can assist you.

CEO Welcome

For over 26 years I have had the fortune of being part of the CODA team and take great pride in my role as Chief Executive Officer of this strong and outstanding organisation. During my time at CODA, I have worked in various roles including direct support work and client coordination. These experiences have provided me with a unique perspective and understanding of the organisation; the needs of our clients and the right direction and support for our staff.

It has been a privilege to be involved in the growth and development of CODA and help guide this organisation into being the exceptional service provider we are today.

One of CODA’s greatest assets is its size. As a small to medium organisation, we have a passionate and dedicated team committed to empowering those we work with; the individuals we support and our staff alike. We are ambitious and endeavour to be the best that we can be and the individuals and families we support; our direct support staff, our admin and Management team as well as our Board of Management, all contribute to the success of our organisation.

This website aims to provide you with an overview of our services and how we can support you. As you navigate your way through our site, if you have questions or feedback please be sure to contact us.

Whether you already know us or want to join us, we hope you love being a part of CODA just as much as we do.
